Electrical Drawing, Schematics and Wiring Diagram Training

A practical course for people with zero previous drawing knowledge.

This course is designed to introduce electrical operatives to reading, understanding and applying drawings used within the electrical industry.

The training is heavily focused on schematics and wiring diagrams used in controls, automation, factory and process environments, while also covering common drawings found in real-world electrical work.

Learners will be shown how to follow drawings from top to bottom, identify components, understand symbols and numbering, trace circuits and build confidence when using drawings on site.

Training is delivered in small groups, giving learners plenty of opportunity to ask questions, take part in discussions and receive individual support.

What You’ll Receive

  • A wide range of digital drawings to download and study
  • Workbooks and resources for continued development
  • Guidance on electrical symbols and numbering
  • Support with interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams and panel drawings

Who This Course Is For

This course is suitable for electrical operatives, apprentices, improvers, maintenance staff and anyone who wants to improve their ability to read and understand electrical drawings used in industrial, commercial, controls and automation environments.

Course Aim

By the end of the course, learners will have a stronger understanding of electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams, giving them more confidence when working on site, in control panels and in factory or process environments.
